Sambe Construction Company was pleased to host career day on May 5, 2004 for the Cherry Hill High School West Special Education Program. Students took part in observing the various construction trades during an on site visit to the Millville Early Childhood Center being built by Sambe Construction Company. Ilya Girlya, Finance Director, lead the guided tour through the building and explained the mechanics of how a building is erected and constructed in harmony with multiple trades of different skills. In addition Sambe Construction Company demonstrated how heavy machinery operates in various soil conditions and the importance each piece of equipment provides. Students had the ability to climb inside multiple pieces of equipment and get the true experience of what it feels like to be a Heavy Machine Operator.

Sambe Construction Company provided a tent complete with tables and chairs and of course pizza and sodas to finish the day. A special thank you goes out to all of the contributors of this event: Wharton Hardware for their generous donation of Hard Hats for all of the individual students, the Caruso family for their tent donation, and the coordinators and helpers of the event - Tricia Girlya, wife of Ilya, and Samuel and Betty Girlya, owners of Sambe Construction Company, for allowing this event to happen and the experience and skill it provided for the students.
